By Rosa, Emily, Rachel and Hannah, year 8

Its the fourth day of Activity week here at Willink and the days are still jam packed with activities for all the years. With year 9 house matches of Cricket and Rounders, food tech, textiles and graphics all related to the topic of the week “war”, not forgetting history lessons about rationing.

On the field, year 9 have been participating in their rounders and cricket house matches for the whole morning, putting in their very best effort to win for their house.

Over in food tech, some year 8 pupils were making dishes out of the rationed food that would have been available to the people back in world war 2. They each worked in pairs to produce foods like war time welsh cakes which are made with sultanas and syrup.

In history they were making leaflets about rationing in world war 2, and learnt what rationing was. We interviewed 3 pupils about how their lesson had went (the three above). They said that the lesson was interesting.
